Canada announces counter tariff on US goods, warns Trump of 'real consequences'

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a counter tariff of 25 per cent tariffs on US goods in retaliation for US President Donald Trump's decision to impose 25 per cent tariffs on all imports from the neighbouring nation starting from Tuesday (February 4).

Trudeau hits out at Trump over tariffs and said tariffs violate a free trade agreement that was negotiated a few years ago. He warned of real consequences for the US. He further said that Canada and Mexico are working together to face these tariffs. He urged Canadians to buy Canadian products and asked them to consider vacationing in Canada.
