A 42-year-old man, identified as Michael Lewis, was arrested for painting a Swastika on a Tesla Cybertruck in New York. The incident took place on Thursday and marks the third attack on a Cybertruck in New York in the last few days.

Elon Musk too has reacted to the same, referring to the accused as “crazy". The Tesla owner, also lashed out at Subaru, a Japanese car manufacturer, which the suspect was driving.

“Crazy people. Naturally, he drives a Subaru," wrote Musk on X.

According to a report by the New York Post, Lewis got out from his Subaru after seeing the parked Tesla truck. He then painted a swastika on it and got into his car. When the truck owner Avi Ben Hamo spotted Lewis defacing the Cybertruck, he tried to block the latter’s way by standing in front of his car.

Lewis then got out of his car, left it in the bike lane and fled. He was later arrested when he came back to take his car at Washington Avenue after ninety minutes.

Lewis, who identifies himself as “geek of all trades, master of few," was charged with aggravated harassment.

His lawyer, Mark Luccarelli, declined to apologise for his client’s actions, noting that the Brooklyn district attorney released Lewis without pressing charges.

“There was zero damage to the car. He did not commit a crime of any kind," the New York Post quoted Luccarelli as saying.

New York City has recently witnessed a rise in attacks on Cybertruck, with some using the term “Elon Derangement Syndrome" to refer to it. This marks the third attack, followed by another attack that took place a few weeks ago when another Cybertruck was egged and smeared with dog poop.
