Delhi New CM Oath Ceremony LIVE Updates: Visuals from outside Ramlila Maidan showed a decked up street and ground as the national capital is set to witness the swearing-in ceremony of first-time MLA Rekha Gupta, who will take oath today, February 20, as the new chief minister of Delhi.
Gupta‘s name as the CM was announced on Wednesday evening. She had won the recently-held Delhi assembly elections 2025 from Shalimar Bagh. The Delhi Assembly poll results were declared on February 8. Gupta will take the oath of office at a grand ceremony which will begin around 11 AM.
Along with Rekha Gupta, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh will take oath.
Verma, son of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma who defeated AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, was among the strong contenders for the top post.
There was no official word from the party whether there would be a deputy chief minister in the BJP government. However, party sources said that in the Cabinet, representation will be given to all communities. Delhi can have a maximum of seven ministers including the CM.
