Defying persistent warnings, this couple broke all limits of recklessness and ignorance as they attempted to scale a mountain peak while holding their baby. In a video that stunned everyone on social media, this Lithuanian couple tried to scale Poland’s highest peak – Mount Rysy – with their nine-month-old baby.

Despite being aware that they would encounter extremely dangerous weather conditions up there, this couple ventured out and even put the life of their little one at risk. According to a report by news website Delfi, the couple attempted to climb despite repeated warnings by guides and rescuers about the treacherous conditions on Mount Rysy.

Couple In Poland Tries to Climb Mount Rysy With a Baby

It is understood that this irresponsible couple wasn’t even equipped for the climb and found themselves unable to descend when a guide intervened and restored sanity. The guide found out about the situation after the baby’s father requested crampons from him to persist with their climb, putting the baby’s life in massive danger.

“They had no safety equipment and when the father realised he couldn’t make it down, he tried to borrow crampons from a mountain guide. In the end, the guide took the baby himself and carried the child to safety," the report said.

How the couple even contemplated climbing the peak with minimal preparation, zero safety equipment and with a nine-month-old baby shocked the authorities and other tourists near the peak. Thankfully, no one was reported injured and the baby was safeguarded by the mountain guide.

Couple’s Ignorance Slammed By Internet

The incident sparked widespread outrage over social media as this couple holding the baby decided to pursue the mountain climb despite several dangers associated with it.

“It’s hard to understand why some parents would take such a risky decision with their child’s safety at stake. There are countless ways to enjoy nature without putting a baby in harm’s way," questioned an individual.

“Let me guess, they did it for Instagram," suspected an individual.

Another user criticised the couple, saying, “Bringing a nine-month-old up a dangerous mountain without gear is beyond reckless, lucky the guide saved the baby."

The couple’s ignorance and apathy in taking the baby for a mountain climb despite the dangerous slopes and weather conditions caused bitter disappointment among those watching the video and should also alert the authorities to further tighten the safety checks and measures in place.
