A video clip from American sitcom The Simpsons has recently gone viral, claiming that the show predicted the death of US President Donald Trump on April 12, 2025.

The viral clip shows a character resembling Trump being carried in a coffin, surrounded by political figures. This has sparked rumors that the show predicted the president's demise. However, these claims are false, as the clip is not from any real Simpsons episode.

Matt Selman, the executive producer of The Simpsons, confirmed that the video was fabricated, and the scene never appeared in the show. Since 2017, manipulated images and videos purporting to show The Simpsons predicting Trump’s death have consistently surfaced on social media, though none have been accurate.

This is not the first time such predictions have circulated. In July 2024, after an assassination attempt on Trump, a doctored image emerged showing him in a coffin with the inscription "R.I.P Donald Trump 1946–2024."

Despite the false claims, The Simpsons has made some surprisingly accurate predictions over the years.

In an episode aired in 2000, the show predicted Trump’s presidency, the rise of smartwatches in 1995, and the discovery of the Higgs Boson in 2012. These instances have fueled the idea that the show can predict the future.

While The Simpsons has made some surprising predictions, viewers are urged to be cautious about viral videos and images claiming to predict events. Many of these are simply doctored or fabricated, spreading misinformation online.
