People welcome court's stay on bulldozer action in violence-hit Baharaich
With tears in her eyes, a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district welcomed the Allahabad High Court's decision granting relief to those who have been served notices for demolition of illegal structures raised on the Kundasar-Mahasi-Nanpara-Maharajganj road in the district. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court extended the time to file affected people's replies by 15 days. In its verdict, the Lucknow bench of the court said the persons concerned may file their responses to the notices within 15 days and directed the state authorities to consider the said replies and a pass reasoned order. "I was in fear, what will we do if our homes and shops?" an emotional woman said.
