A magnitude 6 earthquake hit Myanmar’s Yenangyaung, with tremors felt in Bangladesh and Kolkata.

An earthquake of magnitude 6 struck Myanmar on Tuesday, with strong tremors also felt in Kolkata and several parts of Bangladesh.
According to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake occurred about 70 miles east of Akyab in Myanmar. Shaking was reported from multiple locations in West Bengal, including Kolkata, as well as from neighbouring Bangladesh.
A magnitude 6 earthquake was recorded 95 km west of Yenangyaung, Myanmar, at 9:04 pm local time on Tuesday. The tremor originated at a depth of 57 km, EMSC said.
