In addition to assembly polls in Jharkhand, by-polls in 31 assembly seats spread across 10 states and Kerala’s Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency will also take place
Jharkhand is set to witness the first phase of Assembly elections on Wednesday, with polling scheduled across 43 constituencies. Meanwhile, the second phase is scheduled for November 20 in the remaining 38 constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
Voting in the first phase will be held from 7 am to 5 pm. However, in 950 booths, the voting time will end at 4 pm, though people standing in the queue at that time will be able to vote, according to news agency PTI.
In addition to assembly polls in Jharkhand, by-polls in 31 assembly seats spread across 10 states and Kerala’s Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency will also take place. Interestingly, the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat will remain in focus as Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to make her electoral debut from the constituency after her brother, Rahul Gandhi, vacated it.
It is speculated that these byelections will prove to be a big test for the Congress and the INDIA bloc which failed to put up a united show in the recent Haryana assembly polls.
