Keeping up his promise, billionaire Elon Musk on Saturday announced to launch of a new political party in the US, just days after US President Donald Trump’s flagship spending bill passed Congress.

Musk spent millions of dollars on Trump’s re-election in 2024 and led the Department of Government Efficiency under the Trump administration, aimed at slashing government spending, but the two have since fallen out over disagreements about the bill.

The announcement from Musk comes after President Donald Trump signed a tax-cut and spending bill into law on Friday, which the billionaire chief executive officer of Tesla fiercely opposed.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump warned that he would revoke the billions in federal subsidies granted to Elon Musk’s companies and even suggested the possibility of deporting the SpaceX CEO from the United States.

Musk said previously that he would start a new political party and spend money to unseat lawmakers who supported the bill.

All 435 US House seats are up for grabs every two years, while about one-third of the Senate’s 100 members, who serve six-year terms, are elected every two years.
