Elon Musk announced on X that Tesla will double US vehicle production within two years, citing support for President Trump's policies. He stressed confidence in America's future.

Hours after US President Donald Trump said he was going to buy a brand new Tesla, CEO Elon Musk said he would double the vehicle production in the United States within two years.
The billionaire also said he would do this in support of the policies of President Trump.
“In support of the policies of President Donald Trump and to demonstrate our confidence in the future of the United States, Tesla commits to doubling vehicle production in the US within 2 years!" Musk wrote in an X post on Wednesday.
Tesla shares have been in a sharp slump recently. However, as Trump held a press conference on Tuesday outside the White House in front of a line of shiny Tesla vehicles, the company’s shares climbed.
Trump said he would label any violence against Tesla dealerships as domestic terrorism.
As he spoke, Trump was holding what resembled a Tesla showroom pitch with a list of vehicle prices, according to Getty Images.
“Teslas can be purchased as low as $299/month or $35k," the note said.
