The raid by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a fake call centre in Islamabad turned into a heist for the locals. Videos circulating on social media show people looting the place, taking whatever they could get their hands on. The centre was reportedly managed by Chinese nationals in sector F-11.
According to media reports, the call centre was engaged in unlawful activities and was operating without official approval. Once officials entered the premises, locals also made their way inside.
Videos going viral on social media platforms show the locals looting the place, with some even taking away furniture. People can be seen in the video carrying keyboards, extensions, monitors, and everything else they could reach.
Several clips from the site were shared by different social media users. One netizen wrote, “Pakistanis have looted a call centre operated by Chinese in Islamabad; hundreds of laptops and electronic components, along with furniture and cutlery, were stolen during the holy month of Ramadan."

Reports indicate that the call centre was raided after it came under investigation for allegedly engaging in fraudulent activities and scamming people worldwide. A group of foreigners, including some Chinese nationals, were reportedly involved in running the operation.
The raid led to the arrest of 24 individuals, including some foreign nationals, though a few managed to escape.
Incidents of public looting are not uncommon in Pakistan. For instance, last September, a newly opened mall in Karachi was attacked by hundreds of people who forcibly entered the premises, stealing clothing items and causing significant damage to the property.
Despite the staff’s desperate attempts to control the crowd, the looters rushed into the stores and cleared them out in no time.
