Facebook, Instagram Outage: Meta’s social media platforms Facebook and Instagram are experiencing a widespread outage on Tuesday as users across the world reported that the apps and website were not working properly and they were unable to push the content.

Hundreds of complains have flooded Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources including user-submitted errors on its platform, with the majority of problems focused on Instagram comments not loading and users being unable to post.

Nearly 500 reports of problems on Insta have been flagged at the time of writing, according to Downdetector. The outage tracking website saw a spike in the number of reports today just before 1pm in the UK. Many Facebook users began reporting issues with the platform at that same time.

Meta has not yet responded on the outage.
