US raises entry fees for foreign tourists at US national parks like Grand Canyon and Yosemite to $100, with annual passes over $250 from 2026, keeping US resident fees at $80.

The Trump led administration has announced that foreign tourists visiting popular US national parks like Grand Canyon and Yosemite.

The Department of the Interior, responsible for maintaining the national parks, said each foreign visitor will have to pay $100 besides the existing fees to enter 11 of the most popular sites.

It further stated that the non-residents will also have to pay over $250 for an annual pass to the parks from 2026 while the US citizens and permanent residents will continue to pay $80.

The country’s most visited parks include the Everglades in Florida, Yosemite in California and Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

“President Trump’s leadership always puts American families first," said Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum. “These policies ensure that US taxpayers, who already support the Park System, continue to enjoy affordable access, while international visitors contribute their fair share to maintaining and improving our parks for future generations."

The department stated: “Revenue generated from new fee policies will be invested directly back into America’s national parks, supporting upgrades to visitor facilities, essential maintenance, and improved services nationwide."

The increase in fee follows an executive order signed by Trump in July.

According to BBC, US national parks have seen record numbers of tourists in recent years, with upwards of 331 million visitors in 2024 – an increase of at least 6 million compared to the year before.
