Google's Pixel 10 Pro has the same design as the 9 Pro XL but with minor changes. Does that give it better strength to handle and pass the bend test?

Google’s recent flagship Pixel phones have won the durability contests, even though most of you aren’t sure if the promised 7 OS upgrades will last the course. The build quality of the Pixel 9 series showed the maturity of Google as a phone brand, and the Pixel 10 lineup seems to be continuing the patterns without changing a lot.

So, does the Pixel 10 Pro XL, its biggest and most expensive in the regular Pixel 10 series priced at Rs 1,24,999, offer the same level of solidity? We got these answers covered by the ever-reliable JerryRigEverything who put the new model through the rigours of their durability tests.

Pixel 10 Pro XL Durability Test: Does It Make Or Break?

First up, you have the scratch tests, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, manages the rugged push quite level. The test only starts to show its effect at level 6 and goes further deep into the level 7.

The other important part about the Pixel 10 build quality is the use of aluminium for its chassis which does the job of making it look premium without taking a hit on its strength. And that’s where the bend tests show the device in its true colours where it barely flexed, something that Apple has faced problems with over the years.

So, there you have it, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, or for that matter, the other Pixel 10 models look fairly durable. These tests give us a good indication of what happens to the devices when they face the worst, which is not likely to happen most of the time. But when you have products available in the high-1 lakh you expect quality to be top-notch. The new Pixel series does come with the TSMC-made Tensor G5 CPU which is more focused on balanced performance and better on-device AI results.

We are certain to see the iPhone 17 durability tests in the next few weeks after Apple launches the new models on September 9 and makes them available to buyers a week after that.
