Google’s AI freebies seem to have no end line. And now its AI video editing tool is available for everyone without having to buy a premium AI plan. Google Vids, which is part of the Workspace suite, was first unveiled at the Google I/O 2025 and as the name tells you, the tool helps you create videos by feeding the text script to the AI model and choose from a range of voice and tones. 

You’ve needed the Google AI Pro plan or paid for the Workspace to use the tool so far but now the company is being generous and letting you use it for free. 

Google Vids For Free: Why It Matters 

Google is opening up its AI suite to more users and giving them for free is appealing. Having Vids available means more people can explore the AI editing tools and thereby allow the company to train and evolve with its own products. The free version will obviously not offer all the premium features, and it is not even possible. 

But you get access to the templates offered in Vids, fonts and even the stock media hosted by the platform. Having this much allows anyone to give video editing a shot and sharpen their skills to some level which can later be transmitted to more professional software. 

Google AI is coming over to help and simplify how you edit photos. Yes, the company is bringing new AI upgrades for Photos users that lets them edit images just by asking the app to do it for them via Gemini. Google has offered new ways to edit images in the last few years but it does feel like AI will have the best impact on the users, especially when the technology will do most of the heavy work and thinking for them. 

Google’s new AI feature is coming with the Pixel 10 models for users in the US initially who can just ask Photos to edit the images for you. The Photos app opens as usual, and lets you select a photo that you want Gemini to edit. You will see the ‘Help me edit’ bar where you can trigger Gemini and ask the AI model to edit/modify the image.
