The Israeli military reported that its troops killed two armed assailants who crossed from Jordan on October 18, lightly wounding two soldiers. Two Israeli soldiers, one of whom was a reservist, were lightly wounded in an exchange of fire with the attackers, the army said. The Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan later claimed the two killed attackers as members of their group. Meanwhile, Russia is ready to help seek compromises between arch-foes Israel and Iran, President Vladimir Putin said.
