A century-old Starbucks building in California’s Palisades Village has been ravaged by wildfires, leaving the once-iconic structure unrecognisable.
The historic outlet, commissioned in 1924, was a beloved landmark in the village but was reduced to ashes in the wake of the devastating fires. A viral video shared on social media shows the building’s former charm with its current burnt condition.

“The Palisades Village Starbucks is unrecognizable after being ravaged by fire. ‘The Business Block’ in Pacific Palisades appears to be completely burned down. The Starbucks building was 100 years old, commissioned in 1924," a social media user on X shared.

The user further shared that the fire has claimed the lives of at least two individuals, with the flames now having scorched over 11,000 acres and left more than a thousand structures damaged or destroyed.
This destruction comes amid a series of wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles, including parts of Hollywood. Over 100,000 people have been forced to flee their homes as the blazes rage across the region, news agency AFP reported.
At least five people have been reported dead due to the fires, with a growing number of blazes threatening more areas. The fire in the Hollywood Hills forced evacuations in the historic district, just a few hundred metres from Hollywood Boulevard’s famous theatres.
Efforts to tackle the fires have been hampered by gridlock, with residents struggling to evacuate. The fast-moving flames, driven by powerful winds, have destroyed 1,500 structures, many of which are multi-million-dollar homes.
Authorities have expressed their concern, with Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone stating, “We’re doing the very best we can. But no, we don’t have enough fire personnel in LA County between all the departments to handle this."
