Flying a red flag to the study abroad aspirants and their parents, a Gurgaon-based entrepreneur has said that jobs for international students in Western countries like the US, UK, and Canada have become hard to crack.

He also cautioned the students associated with technology and said that the “hack" of pursuing a master’s in the US and securing a high-paying job “works no more".

“There are no jobs in USA, Canada and UK for students. Honeymoon is over, parents should think twice before spending crores on the expensive education. Engg students especially IITians had an easy hack, do masters in the US and get a $200K starting tech job. This hack works no more," Rajesh Sawhney, founder and CEO of GSF Accelerator, posted on X.

Post Sparks Social Media Debate

The entrepreneur’s post sparked a debate online, with some backing his conclusion while others questioning his “simplistic" approach.

“guys pls don’t listen to him, do your own research," a user said.

“There’s no jobs for local students either," another one pointed out.

“This “hack is dead" narrative is too simplistic. Sure, the low-hanging fruit is gone. But the opportunity? Still very real. Just not for the average, unprepared candidate banking on a degree alone. The game has shifted from degree = job to skills + grit + networking = shot at ROI. It’s not broken. It’s just no longer easy," a user commented.

“There are plenty of tech. jobs in USA," another one said.

“Yes! The game has shifted from credentials to competence. Those who adapt and build skills will still find a way," a person said.
