Vivian Wilson, the estranged daughter of Elon Musk, in an interview with Teen Vogue, said that she doesn’t know how many siblings she actually has. Wilson opened up about several topics in the interview, including her personal life, Elon Musk’s political views, and her relationship with the Tesla owner.
Responding to whether she is on good terms with her siblings, Wilson said, “That’s a question. I will say I do not actually know how many siblings I have, if you include half-siblings. That’s just a fun fact. It’s really good for two truths and a lie. I found out about the Shivon Zilis thing the same time everyone else did. I had no idea before that," she was quoted as saying by Teen Vogue.
Wilson also dismissed the idea that her father’s shift in political views was influenced by her. She called it a “convenient narrative," emphasising that it was simply not true.
“It’s such a convenient narrative, that the reason he turned right is because I’m a fg t*y, and that’s just not the case. That’s not what that does to people. Him going further on the right, and I’m going to use the word ‘further’ – make sure you put ‘further’ in there – is not because of me. That’s insane," she was quoted as saying.
Notably, Elon Musk has 14 children, born to four different women over a 20-year period. Among them are six children with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, which includes a child who passed away in infancy; four with Shivon Zilis, a top executive at Neuralink; and three with the musician Grimes.
Wilson, who’s one of Musk’s children, filed a petition in 2022 to legally change her name, stating that she no longer wished to be “related to [her] biological father in any way, shape or form." The petition was filed two years after she came out as transgender in 2020.
She further claimed that she had not been in contact with Elon Musk since 2020. “That was almost half a decade ago at this point. Thank God," she said.
According to a report by The Guardian, Elon Musk’s political stance has evolved over the past two decades. Initially, he was an outspoken advocate for climate change awareness and other environmental concerns. However, his views began to shift around 2020 when he became increasingly active on X (formerly Twitter).
At the same time, Vivian came out as transgender and legally changed her name. In a conversation with psychologist Jordan Peterson, Musk reflected on this personal change, saying that he “lost [his] son essentially" and adding that his son “is dead, killed by the woke mind virus."
Wilson’s interview comes days after claims made by St. Clair, a MAGA columnist, in February on X, where she alleged that she and Musk had secretly had a child in 2023 and that Musk had been absent from his son’s life. In response, Musk is said to have pursued legal action, including requesting an emergency gag order, to prevent her from publicly discussing the issue.
