"I am the Chief Minister, I will continue till the High Command orders. I have been elected for five years," said Siddaramaiah on the floor of the Karnataka Assembly.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday dismissed uncertainty over leadership in the state and rejected the debate around the power-sharing deal, stating that he was elected for five years.

“I am the Chief Minister, I will continue till the High Command orders. I have been elected for five years," said Siddaramaiah on the floor of the Karnataka Assembly.

The Karnataka Chief Minister further clarified that there was no power-sharing deal about serving for 2.5 Years and reiterated that he will complete his “full term".

Speculation over whether DK Shivakumar would be appointed the Chief Minister by the Congress High Command did the rounds in the political circles for a few days; however, the party later clarified its stand after the two leaders met for breakfast at each other’s residences and held a joint press conference to demonstrate unity.

Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar dismissed speculation about the nature of a dinner meeting that he had.
