Addressing the US Department of Labor's suspension of the Permanent Labor Certification program for certain companies, the official spokesperson clarified that PERM is distinct from the H-1B visa framework. While existing H-1B visa statuses remain unaffected, potential impacts on green card processing were noted, alongside the mutual value of bilateral talent mobility.

Assam Woman Found Dead On Srikakulam Tracks After Sending Video Flaggig Safety On Vivek Express

A 20-year-old woman from Assam, Himashree Boro, was found dead near railway tracks in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district after boarding the Vivek Express from Visakhapatnam to Guwahati. Her family alleged she felt unsafe inside the train coach due to the presence and behaviour of inebriated men, having sent them a video and messages highlighting her distress before her phone switched off. While her luggage and identity documents were recovered from inside the compartment, her body was found beside the tracks in Penubarti village. Railway Police and local law enforcement are investigating all angles, including potential criminal foul play and whether she accidentally slipped and fell from the moving train.
