US officials are searching for four Indian-origin seniors, Asha, Kishore, Shailesh, and Gita Divan, missing since July 29. They were last seen at a Burger King in Pennsylvania.

confirmed death of four Indian-origin family members who went missing during a road trip. Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty confirmed that the family was found dead on Saturday night. They left their house to visit a temple.

As per the missing person’s report, the family members — Asha Divan, Kishore Divan, Shailesh Divan, and Gita Divan — were last spotted six days ago at a Burger King on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Marshal County Sheriff Mike Dougherty’s office issued a statement, “The four individuals who were reported missing from Buffalo, New York, have been found deceased following a vehicle crash. The victims have been identified as Dr. Kishore Divan, Mrs. Asha Divan, Mr. Shailesh Divan, and Mrs. Gita Divan. Their vehicle was located on Saturday, August 2, at approximately 9:30 PM, off a steep embankment along Big Wheeling Creek Road. First responders were on the scene for more than five hours. Sheriff Dougherty extends condolences to the families of the victims. Further information will be released upon the completion of the investigation."

The family was travelling to Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold in Marshall County, West Virginia, in a 2009 lime green Toyota Camry with a New York license plate EKW2611.

Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty spoke to the Ohio-based station, and said they have not been heard from since July 31, 2025, “We have a few leads, which we and surrounding law enforcement agencies are investigating, but have not yet located the missing persons."

A CCTV footage captures the two members of the family at a Burger King. In a short while, a Pennsylvania State Police license plate reader picked up their vehicle heading south on I-79 at 2:45 pm on Tuesday.

Deputies from both Marshall and Ohio counties in West Virginia have been searching nearby roadways. Officials stated that helicopters will join the operation on Sunday to help in the search.
