An Indian origin man was arrested in the United States’ Phoenix over suspicion of sexual abuse of minors, according to a report in NDTV.

The man, identified as Jaydeep Patel (31) used to serve as behavioural health technician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital but at the time of his arrest, he was not an employee of the hospital.

The matter came after over 1,200 photos and videos of child porn were recovered from his electronic devices, NDTV report, citing to local media reports, mentioned.

It is learnt that Patel was nabbed on July 17 and charged with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Police had received tip-off about the matter back in 2024. Cops had received the tip-offs online regarding a social media profile that possessed Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).

Interestingly, police were alerted about the sexually explicit content possessed by Patel by his internet service provider. Thereafter, police launched a probe into the matter. During investigation, police carried out a search at his home and also scanned multiple social media accounts linked to his cellphone number.

Police recovered several transcripts of explicit messages that Patel had allegedly sent, the contents of which were graphic.

In some of the chat logs, the accused requested “child sexual abuse materials for his personal sexual gratification," NDTV reported, citing court documents.

The report further mentioned that cops also found explicit images and videos of minors, in some of which Patel’s house or body was also allegedly visible.

Earlier on July 21, Phoenix Children’s Hospital issued a statement in regard to the incident, claiming the 31-year-old had cleared all the standard background checks when he was hired.

“The safety of our patients and their families is our top priority. In accordance with our policies, we conduct thorough background checks during the pre-employment screening process and at regular intervals for current employees. This individual is no longer employed with us, and we are in full cooperation with law enforcement officials," NDTV quoted the statement issued by the hospital.

A judge has reportedly set a cash-only appearance bond of $100,000 for the accused. The court posted the matter for hearing on July 28.
