GOSHEN: An Indiana man has been arrested after allegedly using TikTok to incite attacks on the government and call for the assassination of President Donald Trump, according to the FBI.

Douglas Thrams, 23, from Goshen, reportedly posted several threatening videos on TikTok this week, prompting an investigation by authorities.

Thrams is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in federal court in South Bend on Monday. As of now, he does not have an attorney to respond to the charge of using interstate commerce to make threats.

In one TikTok video, Thrams saying that Trump needed to be killed, adding, "and this time don’t ... miss," which authorities believe referred to a previous assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last July.

FBI agent Taylor Pletz confirmed that Thrams was visible, audible, and identifiable in all of his videos.

This incident comes amid ongoing debates over TikTok's future in the United States. Although a ban was scheduled to take effect last Sunday, former President Trump postponed it for 75 days, allowing his administration to evaluate national security concerns and explore the possibility of selling the platform to an American buyer.
