iQOO has confirmed that its 2023 flagship phone iQOO 12 will get an extra year of security patch and Android update. With this news, the iQOO device now gets up to four years of OS updates and five years of security update from the brand.
According to the new update policy, the iQOO 12 will now receive security patches and OS updates until 2028 and 2027, respectively. This puts it only a year behind the new flagship iQOO 13 from the company.
The updated software policy for the iQOO 12 was revealed by iQOO India in a post on X. According to the company, the phone is now eligible for five years of security upgrades, which include sophisticated security patches, and four years of operating system updates. The software support is extended for an additional year.
The device made its debut with FuntouchOS 14, based on Android 14, and is now guaranteed to get updates for 12 month more which will surely please many people who bought the phone.

The iQOO 12 sports a 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED E7 display that supports HDR and offers 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 16GB RAM. It is powered by Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15.
The phone has a triple rear camera setup for optics, which includes a 50MP primary sensor with a 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H sensor and an f/1.7 aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.0 aperture, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired flash charging technology.
