A series of explosions was heard in Tehran on Friday as the war between Israel and Iran entered its second week. The blasts happened shortly after Iran’s Fars news agency reported that air defences had been activated in the centre of the capital.

The latest strike followed Iran’s launch of a fresh wave of missiles targeting Israel. An Iranian news presenter described “images in the sky over the occupied territories (Israel) of Iranian missiles arriving," with military music playing in the background during the broadcast.

Multiple reports indicated missile impacts in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, and Beersheba.

Around the same time, the Israeli army confirmed that air raid sirens had been triggered in several parts of the country following the missile launches. However, the statement did not specify the exact locations.

“A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel," the army said in a statement.

2 Hurt In Fresh Iranian Attack

Shortly after the attack, Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue service reported that two people were injured by shrapnel. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital in serious condition with wounds to his upper body, while a 54-year-old man sustained moderate injuries to his lower limbs.

The MDA did not specify the location where the injuries happened.

“MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment and are taking a 16-year-old boy to the hospital in serious condition, with shrapnel in his upper body, and a 54-year-old man in moderate condition with a shrapnel injury to his lower limbs," the MDA said in a statement.

Conflict Reaching ‘Point Of No Return’: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on that the escalating confrontation between Iran and Israel is rapidly approaching “the point of no return."

Speaking as tensions continued to rise and the United States considered possible involvement, Erdogan said, “Unfortunately, the genocide in Gaza and the conflict with Iran are quickly reaching the point of no return. This madness must end as soon as possible." He cautioned that the fallout could impact not only the region but also Europe and Asia for years to come.
