Pezeshkian declared that the actions were taken in defence of Iranian interests and citizens, urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognise Iran’s position.

In the wake of Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took to his official X account to deliver a stern warning. He said that the missile strikes were a response to what he termed the “aggression of the Zionist regime,” stating, “Based on legitimate rights and with the aim of peace and security for Iran and the region, a decisive response was given.”

Pezeshkian declared that the actions were taken in defence of Iranian interests and citizens, urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognise Iran’s position. “Let Netanyahu know that Iran is not a belligerent, but it stands firmly against any threat. This is only a corner of our power. Do not enter into a conflict with Iran,” he warned.

Earlier today, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Iran had launched over hundreds of missiles targeting various regions in Israel. The attack prompted widespread Red Alerts across central and southern Israel, with the IDF urging all civilians to seek shelter in bomb shelters due to the threat posed by the missile barrage. The military indicated that over 10 million Israelis were at risk from the attack.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei also commented on the situation, asserting that “with God’s help, the blows of the uprising front will become stronger and more painful on the worn and rotting body of the Zionist regime.”

The missile strikes come as a direct response to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon and the targeted killings of key Iranian-backed figures, including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Iran has publicly blamed Israel for these attacks, intensifying the already fraught relationship between the two nations.

Reports indicate that explosions were heard over Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv, a vital commercial hub for Israel, was also targetted in the missile barrage. As the situation unfolds, both nations remain on high alert, with the potential for further escalation looming large.
