Abdullah Makki Muslih al-Rufayi, also known as Abu Khadija, was killed in the Iraqi military operation, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Friday.

A senior Islamic State (IS) group leader in Iraq and Syria, Abdullah Makki Muslih al-Rufayi, also known as Abu Khadija, was eliminated in an operation by Iraqi security forces.
The operation was executed in collaboration with the US-led coalition, Iraqi prime minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced on Friday.
Makki was considered “one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world", Sudani said on X.
The jihadist was targeted by the US sanctions in 2023 and was governor of the ISIS’s Syrian and Iraqi provinces, the Iraqi premier said.
