Ground Report: Several injured in Israeli strikes on residential buildings in Beirut
Several people were injured in an Israeli strike on housing societies in Beirut, the first attack within city limits as the country escalated hostilities against Iran's allies in the region. Israeli drones targeted apartment buildings in the Kola area of Lebanon's capital, injuring several people, including the political leaders of Hezbollah. In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces said, "We carried out an attack in Beirut and are now attacking Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon." Israel's increasing frequency of attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi in Yemen have prompted fears that Middle East fighting could spin out of control and draw in Iran and the United States, Israel's main ally.
