Hezbollah called Ali Nour al-Din is an Al-Manar media worker while Israel claimed he was a Hezbollah militant violating the ceasefire.

Lebanon has faced increasing pressure from the United States and Israel to disarm Hezbollah.
An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed Ali Nour al-Din, prompting sharply differing accounts from Hezbollah and the Israeli military over his role. Hezbollah said Ali Nour al-Din worked with its affiliated Al-Manar television station and warned that the killing signalled a dangerous expansion of Israel’s campaign to include members of the media community. The group said the incident “portends the danger of Israel’s extended escalations (in Lebanon) to include the media community," without providing further details on the strike.
The Israeli military rejected that characterization, saying Ali Nour al-Din was a Hezbollah militant involved in military operations. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified him as the head of an artillery squad operating in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon.
“Throughout the war, the terrorist advanced numerous terror attacks against the state of Israel, and operated to rehabilitate Hezbollah," the IDF said, adding that his activities violated the understandings underpinning the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
Israel and Lebanon agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire in 2024 that ended more than a year of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, a conflict that culminated in Israeli strikes that significantly weakened the Iran-backed group. Since then, both sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating the truce.
Lebanon has faced increasing pressure from the United States and Israel to disarm Hezbollah. The group’s leadership has warned that Israel could dramatically escalate strikes across the country to push the Lebanese government to move more quickly to confiscate Hezbollah’s weapons.
