According to the Israeli military, air force jets struck an area in Rafah after "terrorists" opened fire on troops. It also said that Hamas's actions "blatantly violated" the ceasefire agreement, adding that the military would respond firmly.
Quoting the BBC, a military official said Hamas conducted "multiple attacks against Israeli forces beyond the yellow line", which they say is the area Israeli troops withdrew as per phase one of the US-brokered agreement.
