Israel's military discovered several bodies in Gaza during ongoing combat operations, and efforts are underway to extract and identify them. The bodies are believed to be those of kidnapped Israeli hostages, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.

“At this stage, the forces are still operating in the area and carrying out a process to extract and identify the bodies, which will last several hours,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement, according to the Times of Israel.

US President Joe Biden confirmed that his staff has been in contact with Israeli officials and acknowledged the discovery of bodies in Gaza. However, he noted that the exact number remains unclear, as the IDF continues identification efforts.

“It’s time this war ended,” Biden said, expressing cautious optimism about ongoing negotiations for the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza.
