With 13 days left for the US presidential election, a billboard battle has reportedly erupted in heavily Republican Kendall County, Texas. With just 13 days left before the US presidential election, a political billboard war has reportedly erupted in Kendall County, Texas, between the two major parties -- the Republicans and the Democrats.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, 78, is running against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, 60, in the election set for November 5.

Most of Kendall County voters are staunch supporters of the Republican Party, intending to vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump, 78, according to a report in HuffPost.

However, local Democrats have been putting up billboards to remind voters that their presence still exists.

“Kendall County is a heavily red county, and we like to put up billboards because it just basically lets everybody know that, yes, there are Democrats here,” Laura Bray, chair of the Kendall County Democratic Party, told HuffPost.

Kendall County voters are expected to lean heavily towards Trump in this election cycle. Trump won 75% of the vote in the 2020 election, which he ultimately lost, a slight drop from the 77% he polled during his win in 2016.

As the Republican voting percentage declines, the Democrats put up a billboard on rented space along Interstate 10. The billboard reads, "VOTE DEMOCRATIC."

In response, a local business located right beneath the billboard reportedly put up its own sign reading "JUST KIDDING".

The business, CGC Cerakote, owned by Clint Voigt, specialises in coating firearms. Voigt said he views the Democrats’ stance on gun control as a threat to his livelihood, according to HuffPost.

The billboard reads, "JUST KIDDING VOTE REPUBLICAN."

After the Democratic sign went up, Voigt rallied the local gun-owning community, who supported him in funding the response. “We’ve had a lot of people that have been very supportive and donated, and it actually didn’t end up costing us any money,” he told HuffPost.
