Prince Harry is reportedly “feeling lonely" in the United States after renouncing his royal titles and the apparent fallout with his family.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, is learnt to be struggling with carving out a career path for himself stateside following the releases of several money-making ventures like “Spare" and his Netflix series.
Citing a royal expert, Fox News reported that the Prince is in “exile."
“Harry is in exile — he chose it," Fox News quoted royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams as saying. Fitzwilliams said that there was no sign of reconciliation in sight.
“It’s lonely, and he will undoubtedly miss his friends and family. There is no sign whatsoever of the rift in the royal family healing. King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales have, to put it mildly, other priorities," Fitzwilliams said.
“I think Meghan [Markle] is undoubtedly the dominant person in their relationship," Fitzwilliams added. “I don’t doubt he wishes they had managed to arrange a half-in, half-out arrangement [with the royal family], especially as his military links meant so much to him."
On the other hand, royal expert and photographer Helena Chard told the outlet that there was no way back into the royal fold for The Duke of Sussex after he revealed his family’s grievances in a tell-all memoir.
“A self-assured, self-titled, angry Prince Harry thought it was completely OK to publicly verbally annihilate his family," Chard said.
“It is said he was naïve and didn’t realize it would upset his family. He didn’t realize that his actions would cause such a fallout with his family and the public, " she added.
The couple has reportedly been left to lick their wounds following the release of a scathing Vanity Fair exposé earlier this month.
The piece, published on January 17, provided insights into the couples’ struggling business ventures, depicting a not-so impressive picture of their attempts at maintaining relevance after quitting royal life in 2020.
The report claims that numerous former colleagues and associates have slammed Meghan Markle’s character.
Among the many claims made in the exposé, one in particular suggested that the duo had been labeled local villains by neighbors.
Another shocking claim suggested that the “Suits" alum’s team floated the idea of a “post-Harry divorce book" to a publisher.
According to reports, the mother of two was also criticised for her alleged “bully" behavior by several ex-colleagues.
As per the report, some of them claimed they were “undergoing long-term therapy after working with Meghan," while another described her as a “‘Mean Girls’ teenager."
An individual who worked with the Duchess of Sussex, 43, on media projects revealed to the publication that her time with the former actress was “really, really, really awful" and “very painful."
As a result, Markle has reportedly been left “bruised and upset" and “in a bad place" following the claims, according to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield.
