This statement from Lalu is particularly noteworthy, given that his son, Tejashwi Yadav, has recently made contrasting remarks.

Bihar is gearing up for Assembly elections this year, and as the poll season approaches, the political corridors are abuzz with statements and counter-statements.

In an interview with a YouTube channel on January 1, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav remarked that “doors are open" for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to rejoin the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan).

This statement from Lalu is particularly noteworthy, given that his son, Tejashwi Yadav, has recently made contrasting remarks.

During the interview, Lalu said, “Nitish Kumar can join us and work together." He reiterated that his doors remain open for both the public and Nitish Kumar. If Nitish decides to return, he would be welcomed, with Lalu emphasizing that there would be no issues in working together again.

When questioned by reporters, Nitish Kumar responded dismissively, saying, “Kya bol rahen hain…Chodhiye na." (What are you talking about… just let it go.)

Responding to Lalu’s comments, Union Minister Lallan Singh said “We are with the NDA and with full firmness. I cannot react to what people say – there is freedom of expression, people can say whatever they want."

Lalu Yadav’s son, too, echoed the same, saying: “We have already spoken our mind. When journalists ask, Lalu Ji might have said it to cool things down, what is the problem with it?"

Patna, Bihar: On RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s statement that “The door of RJD is open for Nitish Kumar", RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav says, “We have already spoken our mind. Tejashwi had earlier mentioned that even if Nitish Kumar wishes to return, he would not be taken back. He had further added that bringing Nitish back to would be equivalent to hurting themselves. However, with Lalu’s latest statement, political speculation in Bihar has once again gained momentum.

Notably, during a recent visit to Delhi, CM Nitish Kumar was expected to meet BJP president JP Nadda on Monday. However, by evening, plans changed, and Nitish Kumar returned to Patna without meeting JP Nadda.
