A day after her suspension from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K Kavitha said she continues to draw strength from her father and party chief K Chandrashekar Rao, under whose leadership she learnt to fight and question the government.
Speaking to reporters, Kavitha recalled her recent jail stint, saying she had spent five and a half months in prison in what she termed a “false case." Despite this, she said she is back to carrying out her regular programmes through the Telangana Jagruthi platform and raising issues concerning the people.
She alleged that a false campaign was run against her by some individuals whose names she had revealed earlier. Kavitha said she had repeatedly informed her brother about this but received no support from him. “It has been 103 days, and not a single word has been spoken. I haven’t even received a phone call from my brother," she said.
Questioning the treatment meted out to her, Kavitha asked what support ordinary women workers in the party could expect if even she was ignored. “If this is the situation for me, what about a normal woman worker in the party?" she remarked.
Kavitha asserted that she remains committed to working for the people, inspired by her father’s leadership, and will continue her political journey despite the suspension.
