'Living The American Dream': New FBI Director Kash Patel Proudly Exhibits His Indian Origins

Kash Patel, Donald Trump’s pick to lead the FBI, proudly spoke of his Indian origins as he took oath as the ninth director of the American intelligence agency. Patel highlighted that he is living the ‘American Dream’ — a statement that assumes significance amid deportation of hundreds of illegal Indian immigrants from US.

“I am the living the American dream, and anyone who thinks the American dream is dead, look right here. You’re talking to a first-generation Indian who is about to lead the law enforcement agency of the greatest nation on earth. That can’t happen anywhere else… I promise that there will be accountability within the FBI and outside of it," Patel said.

Kash Patel was seen taking the oath on the Bhagavad Gita, with his girlfriend and family beside him. His other family members were seated in the front row.

Earlier, at the US Senate Confirmation hearing, Patel was seen bowing down to touch his parents’ feet, a traditional gesture of respect in Hindu culture. He also greeted his parents with ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ after introducing them before a Senate Judiciary Committee.
