The Mahayuti Alliance defied all expectations in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, clinching 235 of the 288 assembly seats.

The BJP-led Mahayuti, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's NCP, secured 230 out of 288 assembly seats in the elections, retaining power in the state.

Maharashtra Election Result 2024 Live Updates: Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated on Sunday that the leaders of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, along with the BJP leadership, will decide who will be the next chief minister of the state.

The BJP-led Mahayuti, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s NCP, secured 230 out of 288 assembly seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, retaining power in the state.

Meanwhile, the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi’s attempt to reclaim power fell short, as the opposition alliance managed to win just 46 seats. The BJP won 132 seats, the Shiv Sena secured 57, and the NCP claimed 41 seats.

In the MVA, the ist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) won 10 seats, the Congress won 16, and the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) won 20 seats.
