In a move to empower women across Maharashtra, the state government resumed the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The flagship initiative, which was temporarily paused as the model code of conduct was in place for the assembly election, has now entered an active implementation phase.

Under the ambitious scheme, financial support is extended to beneficiaries, aiming to uplift their socioeconomic conditions and foster self-reliance. It has already made significant progress in its phased rollout.

In the first phase, funds are being disbursed to 12,87,503 women whose Aadhaar seeding process was pending earlier. Moving into the second phase, preparations are underway to distribute the December honorarium to approximately 67,92,292 eligible women across the state.

The initiative is spearheaded by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, with his deputies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar playing key roles in its execution. State women and child development minister Aditi Tatkare highlighted the scheme’s importance in a recent address.

“The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a game-changer in advancing women’s empowerment. By providing financial assistance, we are enabling women to lead a life of dignity and independence. The state government has ensured that the scheme is accessible and transparent. Efforts are being made to simplify the registration and fund distribution process, with special emphasis on addressing grievances and ensuring timely disbursements. reach the intended recipients seamlessly.
