Two bungalows on DDU Marg and a third in Civil Lines have been selected by PWD officials as options for Delhi CM Rekha Gupta's official residence

A BJP government was formed in Delhi after 26 years when Rekha Gupta took oath as the chief minister on Thursday along with six ministers at the famous Ramlila Maidan.
Rekha Gupta, Delhi’s fourth woman chief minister, will oversee key departments including Finance, Services, Vigilance, Revenue, and Women & Child Development. Her cabinet colleague, Parvesh Verma, has been entrusted with portfolios such as PWD, Water, Legislative Affairs, Irrigation & Flood Control, and Gurdwara elections. Ashish Sood will handle Home, Power, Education, Urban Development, and other departments.
In its first meeting, the new Cabinet approved the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. It added that the 14 pending CAG reports will be tabled in the first session of the Delhi Assembly.
After being sworn in, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated unequivocally that she would not be residing in the ‘Sheeshmahal’, the name given by the BJP to the 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow that was occupied by AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal as the chief minister of Delhi from 2015 till the first week of October last year. During a conversation with News18 India, Rekha Gupta mentioned that she wants to transform the controversial property into a museum.
The Central Vigilance Commission had earlier this month directed the CPWD for a detailed probe into the alleged merger of properties to expand the bungalow and the expenditures incurred on its interiors.
That leaves the question – which property would Rekha Gupta take up as her official residence?
The Public Works Department (PWD) has reportedly selected three residences for Gupta. Sources suggest that two of these are bungalows located at DDU Marg in central Delhi, where both the Delhi BJP office and the BJP’s national headquarters are located. The third option is a bungalow on Rajpur Road in Civil Lines, North Delhi. Officials confirmed that these three residences were selected as options only after repair work was completed.
Once Rekha Gupta chooses her official residence from the options given, the bungalow will be officially allotted after the approval of the General Administration Department (GAD).

Officials stated that all three options align with the Z-category security provided to the Delhi Chief Minister. However, this may be reviewed again on February 21.
Former Chief Minister Atishi had Z-category security, but no protocol had to be followed as she resided in her private residence.
According to officials, the Chief Minister’s residence is usually equipped with necessary security provisions. However, they did not need to ensure Z-category security in the last 10 years.
