A man was taken into custody late Tuesday after driving his car into a security gate outside the White House.

The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that the incident occurred at 10:37 p.m. at a White House entrance on 17th Street and E Street NW in Washington, D.C.Officers from the Secret Service responded immediately, arresting the driver on the spot. Witnesses reported a heavy security presence, with agents seen holding long guns and securing the area.

The White House perimeter was briefly locked down as authorities assessed the situation.No injuries have been reported, and the motives behind the crash remain under investigation. The Secret Service continues to review security footage and gather information to ensure the safety of the President and staff, while the driver remains in custody pending further questioning.
