Melania Trump Unveils White House Christmas Decor, Says It Represents US' 'Patriotism, Generosity'

Melania Trump unveiled White House holiday decorations themed "Home Is Where the Heart Is", honouring American generosity and patriotism.

US First Lady Melania Trump on Monday unveiled the holiday decorations at the White House featuring an decorations intended to showcase American “generosity, patriotism, and gratitude".

While on her way to address the media, Melania briefly paused to thank the volunteers for the decorations, said Margo Martin, Special Assistant to the President and Communications Advisor.

“As we gather for the Christmas season, I want to begin with a simple heartfelt message: Thank you. Each of you represent some of the best qualities of our country – generosity, patriotism, service…," the First Lady said.

This was Trump’s first Christmas at the White House in this tenure. The theme of celebrations this year is “Home Is Where the Heart Is."

According to Associated Press, several dozen volunteer decorators from across the country helped deck the halls of the Executive Mansion with 75 wreaths, 51 Christmas trees, more than 700 feet (213 meters) of garland, more than 2,000 strands of lights, over 25,000 feet (7,620 meters) of ribbon, over 2,800 gold stars, more than 10,000 butterflies and 120 pounds (54 kilograms) of gingerbread.

Fox News quoted the White House saying: “Every detail of the 2025 White House Christmas decorations was personally selected by Mrs. Trump to honor the heart of America and the theme ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’."

“The saying ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ resonates deeply with me, especially as I navigate the joys, challenges, and frequent motion that comes with motherhood and business," the first lady told Fox News Digital. “The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings."

“This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we hold within ourselves and share it with the world around us," she continued. “After all, wherever we are, we can create a home filled with grace, radiance, and endless possibilities."

The White House will reopen its doors for public Christmas tours on December 2. According to Fox News, the tours will feature the White House Christmas decorations on the state floor, and will give visitors the opportunity to “enjoy the beloved annual tradition that transforms the White House into a festive reflection of the spirit, warmth, faith, and hope of the holiday season."
