Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Husain Dalwai on Wednesday suggested that the tournament final should be held in Mumbai instead of Ahmedabad.

Dalwai said Mumbai is the “real home of cricket" and argued that the city deserves to host the final match. “Instead of holding the final in Ahmedabad, they are planning it there. Let the semi-final happen there, and the final be in Mumbai," he said.

Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dalwai added, “Modi ji is unlucky. Once we lost there, do we really need to repeat that experience again?"

India will face England in the crucial semi-final tomorrow as fans across the country gear up for the high-stakes clash.
