Pennsylvania Hospital Shooting: Multiple people were injured in a shooting at a hospital in York County, Pennsylvania, ABC News reported citing law enforcement sources briefed on the matter.

Officials believe at least two law enforcement officers have also been injured. It is unclear how many people were injured in the shooting, sources in the know told the outlet.

The development came after authorities in Pennsylvania responded to an active shooter situation at UPMC Memorial Hospital. Police vehicles were seen outside the hospital’s surgery center which is located in the West Manchester Township, York County.

The police responded to what they described as a “an active threat" at the hospital, they said.

Videos shared widely on social media showed a heavy police presence surrounding the hospital. Roads in that area were closed and officials are not allowing anyone to approach the facility, US media portals reported.

The threat has been “neutralized" and an investigation is underway, Ted Czech, a public information officer for the York County Office of Emergency Management, said as per The New York Times.

The nature of the threat or whether anyone was harmed was not immediately clear.
