Netanyahu dismissed concerns about arrest in New York after mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's pledge.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to questions about whether he is concerned about a potential arrest if he visits New York City after mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani pledged to detain him.

“I’m not concerned about that", Benjamin Netanyahu said, adding, “I’m going to come there with President Trump and we’ll see."

This comes as Zohran Mamdani said, “As mayor, New York City would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu", citing Criminal Court’s arrest warrants against Israeli PM and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Zohran Mamdani said, “This is a city that our values are in line with international law. It’s time that our actions are also."

‘Not Serious’, Says Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu brushed off Zohran Mamdani’s statement, saying, “It’s silly in many ways, because it’s just not serious." Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that what truly matters is not political rhetoric in the US, but whether a two-state solution in Gaza is viable and secure. He said, “What is serious is whether there can be a two-state solution in Gaza that doesn’t pose an existential threat to the Israeli people."

What Donald Trump Said On Zohran Mamdani’s Threat

Donald Trump, who met with Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House to discuss Israel’s ongoing war with Hamas, also dismissed the threat. The US President said, “We don’t know who the mayor is going to be yet, but this is a communist. He’s not a socialist. He’s a communist, and he’s said some really bad things about Jewish people. He might make it. But, you know, it all comes through the White House. He needs the money through the White House. He needs a lot. He’s going to behave. He’ll behave. He better behave. Otherwise, he’s going to have big problems."
