Howard County Police discovered Godishala's body in the apartment of her roommate, Arjun Sharma, on January 3, 2026. Sharma, who filed a missing person report on January 2, fled to India the same day. The victim's family has appealed to the government for the repatriation of her remains. Basheer states: 'The Howard County Police is right now investigating the matter and the prime suspect here remains Arjun Sharma.'
