Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, along with other leaders of Mahagathbandhan, held a joint rally in Bihar’s Sakra on Wednesday, pitching themselves as the voice of Bihar’s youth and hitting out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the gathering, Tejashwi said, “Nitish Kumar is just a puppet for the BJP. You are Bihari — no bahari (outsider) will come, and no remote control will work here."
He urged voters to back the INDIA bloc in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, promising that if voted to power, his government would provide one government job per family.
“We want a Bihar where no one has to leave the state for work. Give Tejashwi a chance — it will be the government of the youth," he said.
Rahul Gandhi echoed the sentiment, attacking the BJP over unemployment and alleged paper leaks.
“I spoke to some Bihari youths. They told me there are no jobs here, no future for Biharis in Bihar. What has Nitish Kumar done in the last 20 years for education, health, or jobs," Gandhi said.
He added that under the NDA, Bihar has seen repeated examination paper leaks, denying students opportunities for quality education.
Gandhi also said, “When I asked the prime minister to conduct a caste census, he said nothing. They are using Nitish Kumar’s face, but the remote control is with the BJP." Stressing on his vision for Bihar, he added, “I want a Bihar where people from other states come here for jobs — not where our youth are forced to migrate."
The Congress also added: “I am thankful for you all to come here. Wherever I go, I meet young people from Bihar. You help build Delhi, Bangalore, Gujarat, and Mumbai. If you can help other states, then you can definitely do this in your own state. I met 15 youth of Bihar a few days ago, and all of them were saying that they see nothing in Bihar — employment or any kind of future in Bihar."
The rally, marked by slogans of ‘Yuva ki sarkar’, saw both leaders reaffirming their alliance’s commitment to employment, education, and dignity for Bihar’s youth.
