Imran Khan’s son Kasim has alleged that the former PM has been held in total isolation for six weeks with “no proof of life,” despite court orders permitting family access.

Imran Khan’s son, Kasim Khan, issued an urgent public appeal on Thursday, alleging that the former Pakistani Prime Minister has been subjected to total isolation in jail for six weeks, with no family contact, no legal access and “no proof of life."
In a post on X, Kasim accused the Pakistani government of deliberately concealing Khan’s condition and violating court orders that allow his family to meet him.
“My father has been under arrest for 845 days. For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency," Kasim wrote.
He said that despite clear judicial directions, officials had barred every attempt by Khan’s sisters to visit him.
“His sisters have been denied every visit, even with clear court orders allowing access," he added.
According to Kasim, the former premier has been completely cut off from the outside world. “There have been no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father," he said, describing the situation as a severe escalation in restrictions imposed over the past month and a half.
Calling the blackout deliberate rather than procedural, Kasim alleged political motive behind the isolation.
“This absolute blackout is not a security protocol. It is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe," he wrote.
Issuing a warning to authorities, he mentioned, “Let it be clear: the Pakistani government and its handlers will be held fully accountable legally, morally and internationally for my father’s safety and for every consequence of this inhumane isolation."
Kasim’s post ended with a plea, “I call on the international community, global human rights organisations and every democratic voice to intervene urgently. Demand proof of life, enforce court ordered access, end this inhumane isolation and call for the release of Pakistan’s most popular political leader who is being held solely for political reasons."

This comes amid rising concerns over Khan’s well-being as his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), continues to be denied access to him.
According to a Reuters report, PTI leaders said earlier this week that they had not been allowed to meet Khan for more than three weeks, prompting fears about his health.
Zulfikar Bukhari, the party’s spokesperson, told Reuters, “His health is our concern. We are worried about his illegal isolation," adding that no one had seen the former premier since November 4.
Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023, serving a 14-year sentence on corruption charges, one of several cases he claims were fabricated to sideline him politically, an accusation the powerful military establishment denies.
His arrest in 2023 had triggered nationwide protests, followed by a sweeping crackdown on PTI.
Despite prison rules allowing weekly meetings, PTI members told Reuters that authorities had repeatedly blocked access in recent months.
Local media have also reported discussions about moving Khan to a high-security facility to further restrict contact, although a jail official told Reuters that the former Prime Minister was “in good health" and that no such transfer was planned.
