Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a selfie with the stars of popular Netflix and Israeli television series ‘Fauda’ on the second day of his visit to Israel on Thursday.
Taking to X, PM Modi quipped, “Thankfully, this interaction required only a selfie, no undercover work!"
‘Fauda’ is an Israeli television series loosely based on the experiences of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and is available for streaming on Netflix. It stars Lior Raz, Hisham Sulliman and Itzik Cohen in leading roles.
Based on the real-life experiences of Raz and Issacharoff, the award-winning “Fauda" follows a team of elite Israeli undercover agents as they work to apprehend Palestinian militants. The series is very popular in India, ranking among the top 20 countries for viewership. The spy-thriller series led to an official Hindi remake called Tanaav in 2022.

On the second day of his visit on Thursday, PM Modi visited Yad Vashem — Israel’s official memorial, established in 1953, to commemorate the six million Jews murdered by Nazis, after which he met Israeli President Isaac Herzog for bilateral talks.
During a joint press meeting with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi announced that both countries have decided to elevate their ties to a Special Strategic Partnership. Both sides also clinched deals in several key areas, such as critical minerals and AI.
“Our relationship is built on a strong foundation of deep trust, shared democratic values, and human sensitivities. Our ties have stood the test of time. Today, we have taken the historic decision to elevate our time-tested partnership to the status of a Special Strategic Partnership," he said.
The two countries will also pursue joint development, production, and transfer of technology in defence, Modi said at the end of his two-day trip to Israel. The Prime Minister also expressed support for the Gaza Peace Plan by the United States, affirming that humanity must not become a victim of conflict.
