China called Iran’s decision to appoint Mojtaba as new Supreme Leader “an internal matter". Foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told that China “opposes interference in other countries’ internal affairs under any pretext, and Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity should be respected." Beijing added that the decision to name Mojtaba Khamenei as supreme leader was made by Iran’s own constitutional process.
“China opposes interference in other countries’ internal affairs under any pretext, and Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity should be respected," foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told a press conference.
